Ford F150 2023 xle 8 cylinders 5.0 engine 400 hp 10 speed transmission or
GMC Sierra 2023 elevations 8 cylinders 5.3 engine 350 hp 10 speed transmission
both with 4 wheels drive

If you plan to keep it beyond the manufacturer’s warranty period, then neither one, unfortunately. GM’s quality is already a low bar, and Ford is even worse. Their new trucks are not as well designed or well built as their much older ones.
Both have the same transmission, I believe, but Gm has had fewer problems with it. The Gm 5.3 V8 is a good motor - IF - you deactivate the “dynamic fuel management” system (look in the archive by using the search bar). Maintenance costs on the 5.3 are relatively reasonable too.
So probably the GMC is a little better choice.
