2016 GMC Yukon Transmission trouble

Scotty,

Our 2016 GMC Yukon 5.3l 5 speed was at a stop and when she went to accelerate the transmission disengaged and the engine just revved up.  She tried to shift to park and reverse without any success.  A nearby motorist walked up and told her to shut it off and turn it back on, which she did and it was successful.  He said he had a buddy that had a similar problem and it was a bad sensor.  On her way home she said the transmission was jerking while climbing hills, but she made it home.  When she got home I checked and it has plenty of fluid on the dipstick and there are no check engine lights on.

Please help,

-A firefighters wife

Realize that if you have a problem in a sensor and a transmission wiring going to the sensor or the computer transmission module it will all do the same thing like that and shut it off and started it will make it work again. So you need to have an expert check it out sometimes it's as simple as the shift solenoid is shorting out in the transmission but you need a very good mechanic to check that stuff out because it's ultimately all computer driven

Typical symptoms of the famous GMC bad torque converter.
