Hi Scotty,

Great Ytube channel, always entertaining and informative, Thanks.

We are looking to buy a used SUV, we've found a 2012 Mazda 5 GT with 175K Km for $6500 Can$$

From a local dealer certified.

We have been looking for a RAV4 but have not found one in the area at a decent price. we like the ride and feature of the mazda 5.

We welcome any guidance you have.

Thanks, keep up the great content.

Bill

"Certified" as to what and by who? Better have a good mechanic check it out before purchase.

Well they are decent vehicles. They don't last as long as the Toyotas but they cost a lot less. But regardless of whatever guarantee they give, you need a guy like me to check it out before you buy. You can never trust the people who are selling you a car

Thanks Scotty,
I had my mechanic check it out and scan the car other than needing new tires and a small hole in the exhaust both will be fixed prior to safety certfy the car was good, so we are a proud new owner of a mazda 5.

One thing to be concerned about is the transmission. They tend to be pretty weak as it ages but with a good amount of TLC and changing the ATF fluid every 30k miles or so, they won't be that bad at all. Other than that, they're pretty decent minivans as long as they're well taken care of so I don't see much of a problem with it.
