Hi Scotty!
My dad passed away recently and I inherited his 2016 Infinity Q50 3.0t AWD sedan. Has about 65,000mi with an auto transmission. What are your thoughts or knowledge of this car? Should I turn and run? Sell or trade in asap for something else? Or is this a good, reliable car? I live in Connecticut and this would be my everyday driver.
Thanks! Your youTube vids are my morning cup of coffee, luv em!
Best, Stephen
Any car that you got for free, as long as it runs and drives, is a great car. It's got some life left in it. Change your transmission fluid now, it has to be OEM fluid. It'll last a while, but if something major breaks (transmission, etc) don't throw money into it.
@justin-shepherd I agree that it could be a good car for a while if taken care of.
On the other hand, he could sell it now while it is worth a good bit, and get a nice, reliable car like Toyota, Lexus, Honda etc, and not have to worry as much about it breaking. They seem to be pretty good cars overall though.
Although it is a Jatco transmission, it’s not a CVT. Those are the ones to worry about. id it was CVt, I would run. But since it is not, it may be worth keeping. Especially at such low mileage.
