Scotty ! My mom recently bought a brand new 2021 Ford F-150 with the V8 engine (thank god not a turbo V6) since she no longer feels safe or comfortable in her 2014 Civic on freeways with all these SUVs and trucks driving around, and since she is getting older, she is really starting to notice how uncomfortable the Civic’s hard leather seats are. I advised her to go with the Toyotas but she didn’t like them 🙄. On the bright side, she doesn’t drive the truck that much and only plans to use it on longer freeway trips or when she needs to haul large items but continue to use her 2014 Civic for going to the store, or going out to eat locally. Did she make a good choice or did she make a mistake?
A mistake.
Ford has had constant issues with the 2018+ 5.0L V8's. Many topics here on the forum.
I personally sued them over my brand new 2018 F150 5.0L that went through 3 motors, 2 transmissions, and many other problems in the first 6k miles/6 months.
Good luck to her.
Bad mistake. The 1/2 ton Ford trucks are junk. I hope your Mom likes the Ford dealership service department waiting room because she is going to be spending a lot of time there.
