Hello:
I have a 2000 2.7L 4 cylinder Toyota Tacoma with 238,000 miles and for 90% of it's life I have been using regular oil, perhaps synthetic blend. A neighbor insists I switch to full synthetic extended protection. Is it too late for that or never too late and highly recommended to switch? Thank you for reading.

Stick to the conventional (if possible) or synthetic blend.

I would NEVER switch to full synthetic with this mileage.
