Grinding noise under truck

Hey Scotty, Andrew here. I have a 2000 Ford Ranger V6 3.0 2WD with 156k miles. Today as I was going to work, my truck started making a weird grinding noise under the truck. The steering wheel moves slightly to the left and right and when I apply the brakes, it screeches. Any idea what it could be? Thanks for your time Scotty!😎

Check your wheel bearings

Turned out to be the wheel bearings, thanks dude

This sounds like more than one problem, Andrew.

Does the grinding change as you speed up or slow down?

Does it grind if you are moving and put it into neutral?

Does the steering wheel move left and right when you are driving, or just when you apply the brakes?

Do the brakes screech on any stop, or just light stops/just heavy stops?

The usual cause of screeching brakes is worn-out brake pads (they are made so they screech when the pads are worn out). Life is too short to drive with bad brakes - actually, your life may BE short if you drive with bad brakes.

It turned out to be the wheel bearings, and did my brakes too as they were pretty low. It wasn't really a screeching noise but more of a grinding noise and it scared the frick out of me.
