Lately I noticed my radio acting funny and then the driver rear brake light goes on and off and then the temperature gauge is up past 260. I changed the radiator fluid I don’t feel like it’s running hot I feel like I have an electrical issue with the 3 problems. Where do I start to find the short in the ground affecting all 3? It’s a 1987 chevy R10 pickup new engine 3,000 miles automatic

why do you think they're related. Maybe it's 3 different faults. The car is almost 40 years old.

what happens if you unplug the temperature sensor? Gauge should drop to nothing.

when it goes out, what is the voltage on the power wire?
Have you checked all your fuses and relays?
