Topic starter
I have a 2010 Kia Rio 1.5 CRDI diesel Manual with 84000 miles (based in the UK).
when I release my handbrake and slowly pull away, I can hear a slight squeaking sound as if somethings sticking on or binding. The only way I can stop it is if I pull on and quickly release the handbrake when moving. Seems to happen more on colder/wetter days.
a garage has already taken a look and ‘stripped it back and cleaned the brakes’ but it’s still doing it. What could it be? thank you!!

Could be the parking brake cable binding up, detached it and give it some lube.
@jimbob
Thanks I’ll try that.
