Scotty,
I have a 2006 Hummer H3 with 230000 miles on it. Engine was replaced at 160k miles and the automatic trans was replaced at 220k. Recently the engine has had a hard time starting up. It coughs and chokes then dies. Sometimes it take 5-10 attempts to start. Once it’s running it is fine. What could be the problem? Also the speedometer consistently reads 20mph low. 20=40mph 40=60mph. The H3 has 35” tires but that doesn’t account for the speed difference.

Get it scanned for codes. It could be something as simple as malfunctioning fuel injectors. Check the fuel pressure. When was the fuel filter last changed?
