Hello, so I am going to be replacing my leaf spring mounts and all of that, I have everything I need but the U bolts that attach the spring to the 7.5 inch differential. Can't find any info about the size online but I was thinking once I take them off I can just take it to Lowes/Home Depot and get a replacement. Good idea or not? Thanks.
The U bolts you'll find at hardware stores are generally not suitable for your application. They do not have the metallurgy or torque capability needed to hold you springs to your axles. You need heat treated, SAE quality rated hardware for this important application.
RockAuto sells U-Bolts for my 1999 Ranger. I'm not sure what year yours is, or whether or not you have 4-wheel drive, but they should be interchangeable on trucks with the same drivetrain (2x4 to 2x4 and 4x4 to 4x4)
More Information for HUSKY SPRING UA125R (rockauto.com)
it's a 92 ford ranger xlt 7.5 diff 2x4
Hey thanks man, I just ordered the ones I needed from Rock auto and some other stuff
Should be OK if you buy Grade 8 hardware.
