Around what mileage do head gaskets go on Subarus?

Depends on the year. The EJ25, 2.5L 4 cylinder engine 1996 thru 2004 were prone to head gasket leaks anywhere from 100-150k miles.

If the head gaskets blow, then why didn’t Subaru issue a recall about it? Have there been any lawsuits against Subaru for the issue?
