Hello, I have a 2000 honda civic lx sedan with 232000 miles on it. Im having a radiator fan problem. I have a new relay, new fan and new fan switch, and still dosent turn on. If I jump the plug that connects to the fan switch the fan turns on. I rep...😶
Please post the missing information from your question as a new comment here, thanks.
I replaced the fan switch twice, any suggestions?
The thing is, when you jumped the fan switch connector and everything worked you proved that the wiring, fuses, fan relay, and cooling fan were all good.
That seems to prove the fan switch is faulty. But you replaced that.
The only other reason would be an intermittent problem in the wiring. (intermittent because when you removed the wiring connector from the fan switch and jumped it the fan worked).
One thing you didn't say is if your Civic is overheating.
Is it overheating?
If it isn't overheating then it's possible your thermostat is stuck open and the coolant temperature isn't getting hot enough to close the fan switch
Yes its overheating. That makes sense, ill try the thermostat, thank you
Have you checked the fuses, and possibly the temperature sensor?
The fuses are good and I changed the temperature sensor.
When you turn on the AC, does the fan come on? When you say "switch" do you mean the fan control module? The coolant temperature sensor is different from the coolant temperature switch. Also, did you use OEM or after market parts?
Yes when I turn on the AC the fan turns on. And yes fan control module, I bought it from Orielys. When I bought the first one it worked for about a week, got another one and it did nothing.
So what is the reason for the down vote?
New to this site, wasnt sure what that meant, I appreciate the comment

I'd use only OEM for the switch.
