Hello , I have a 2005 mitsubishi Outlander with a 148000 miles and today I lost the AC, the compressor kicks on and then the radiator fans turn on and then about 2 seconds later all 3 shut off the 2 fans and the compressor and then after some time it kicks back on again and then back off again and generally runs for 2 seconds . However after some time of the car sitting I let the AC run and it ran fine and then it stopped working again and it keeps turning on the 2 fans and the compressor for 2 seconds and stops again any ideas?

There's a better than even chance that your AC system has leaked some refrigerant over the last 18 years.
