depends on the condition of the vehicle and the extent of the damage.
Hello. My teen wrecked our 2003 Landcruiser. Our insurance offered to return it as is and give us $8200.00 for repairs. Estimated cost to fix the Landcruiser is $10,200. Should I keep the Landcruiser and have it repaired? If, not what midsize SUV/crossover would you recommend? 2017 Mazda CX5 FWD or 2015 Toyota Highlander?
I expected you would ask 'should I keep the teen'...
My answer had been 'discard her/him a.s.a.p.'
When you are having emotional problems with that, your teen will have to earn minimally $4000 for the repairs (the estimated cost will not suffice) with car-cleaning in a nearby car-washing facility..
When the Landcruiser was a gem to you, repair will give you the most. 😀
depends on the condition of the vehicle and the extent of the damage.
If your Landcruiser has low mileage, it's been well maintained and the damage wasn't too severe, then you might want to consider their offer. As @imperator stated, this type of information is essential for us to know in order for us to give you sound advice.
Insurance companies can and often do total older vehicles because of the car's age rather than the actual damage done in an accident. Then they sell the vehicle and write off the loss. (It's always about the money)
