2017 VW Jetta Idiot Lights on

This is a fairly new car with fewer than 60,000 miles on it. I started it up after reconnecting the airbag sensor because it was not fully connected. Now I have two idiot lights on, one for the airbag, and the other for the seatbelt. I buckle my seatbelt but the light stays on until I buckle the passenger seatbelt even though no one sits there. I do not have a scan tool so what do I do?

Go to an autopart store and ask them to scan the codes.

You may need a dealer-level scan tool to turn those off. I know that's the case on Saabs if you disturb the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) wiring and trigger the light. A good mechanic should be able to do a scan and reset.


the codes that were pulled were B102229 and B121400. These were pulled from an Innova scanner


Well you have a bad connection or bad sensor somewhere. Some possible clues below even though situations and codes are a bit different:
