2017 Volkswagen Jetta Sound upon startup

Hi Scotty I have a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta with 51000 miles on it.  When I turn the vehicle on first thing in the morning I hear a whistling sound but when the rpm lowers it goes away. I had it smoked tested but no air leaks were found. What could it possibly be?

Also do I really have to go to an Vw dealership to have it maintained or can I go anywhere else. I want a brake change but the Vw dealerships are overly expensive.

Check the serpentine belt. Spray some water and see if the noise goes away.

Regarding the maintenance, find an honest independent mechanic. Do not go to dealerships unless you have to.

The belt is okay.
It happened after the dealership fixed a recall they had to remove the intake and they messed up twice. One time they forgot the gasket another time a brace broke but then after the foreman. Put everything together everything was okay and now I hear the same sound it made when those issues were going on.
They want to charge 150 just to check again.

It happens when the rpm is high when I crank the car but after it settles I don't hear it.

@Akeemis - please do not double post comment. Allow it to go through the system, even though it can be slow at times. Thank you.
