So I’ve had my Lexus is250 for less than a month and I turned the corner and all of a sudden the check engine light comes on my traction light and a check vsc...with only 67k miles did I get sold a lemon and or what is the cause?
Clarification: Year? When you plug in a scan tool to the OBDII port, what codes come up?
2007 Lexus Is250 codes were P0420 and C1201
P0420 is flagging a weak catalytic converter, though it can also be caused by a bad O2 sensor.

C1201 is an engine control system fault. It disables traction control and VSC, and may be triggered by a faulty O2 sensor.

Thanks...if I can’t get it to the shop until Monday can I still drive the car until then?
I wouldn't drive it on a cross-country trip that way but should be all right around town as long as it's otherwise running OK.
Ok so what is ironic I drove it on Saturday and the lights were still on but about 2 hours after I was on the highway I started it up and all the lights were off and have not been back on since...what could that have been? Possibly could it have been the gas cap or is it something else?
All I can say is keep an eye on it. I always get suspicious when things "fix themselves". Could be an intermittent problem that will surface again.

As long as the CEL is not flashing, you are ok to drive it.
Ok thanks I appreciate it
