Hello
It is a dakota 2001 and I did the seals and bearings on rear axle. All went fine until
I drained the old fluid.
I found two pieces!! please see pictures.
I have no idea and what the consequences may be.

It looks like the shims fell out of place. You probably need to reset the gears.
