Help me pick my first car
1. 2012 Lexus is250 88,000 miles for $9,000
2. Toyota Camry 143,000 miles for $8,000
All of those cars have clean titles
Both are excellent cars, pick the one that you like better.
What year is the Camry? Both are good choices, but if the Camry is between model years 2007 and 2014 then I would go with the Lexus assuming its in good mechanical shape.
2014 Camry
Keep in mind the 2012-2014 Camrys had transmission shudder issues, you can find the Bulletin through the FAQ Used Car Buying Guide, or the above link next to my profile.
They are both great cars especially since they are Toyota's which have a great reputation for reliability. The choice is yours. Have a mechanic inspect the car for any pre existing problems as you would any other used car. The Lexus is a great deal.
wow what the hell. what kind of trust fund are you sitting on to buy your first car at 8k cash money? dont by a lexu anything, come into it with some kind of humility, buy an older corolla or f150 truck. whats going on here? what kind of young demographic is buying their first car at near 10 grand? {black}:serious:
I save up money since 2019 I have almost $21,000 and I’m turning 18 in 2 months but the comment was funny af I’m dead your funny
Both of the cars are very reliable. Check with a mechanic and test drive to see what you like better. I would pick the Lexus since it's low mile and they asked for a good price for that kind of mileage.
I would go with the Lexus myself but both are good. Repairs and insurance may be cheaper on the Camry.
Sure, your first car. Making that responsible decision to get something conservative, reliable. A four door soccer mom mobile. And both are good reliable cars provided they have been cared for. But also make sure you not only like it, but you love it. Imagine yourself doing other things like going to the beach with friends, weekend activities. Other aspects of life besides driving back and forth to school or work. Doesn’t matter how reliable it is, its my experience if you really don’t love your car then you won’t keep up maintenance or care for it as much. Nice thing about Lexus’s or even Camry’s are the options out there, 2 door, 4 door, sport version etc.... do you need space of a 4 door, maybe even a small SUV if your moving back and forth to college. Just my two cents. My daughter originally had an accord, but when she went to college I had to bump her up to an SUV. At least you’re eyeballing good manufacturers.
Both are good cars as they're both Toyota products....Test drive them both.....If possible have them both checked out by a mechanic to see if they are worth your time and $$. If they both check out, then it really depends if which one you like best.
