Hey Scotty! I appreciate all your videos! I'm in Knoxville tn... do you know anyone reliable (mechanics) near me... I'd come to you... I just bought a used 2014 Ford escape like 6 months ago(wish I didn't) 86000 miles. Coolant leaking but a mechanic fixed the hoses and head gasket cover... 2 months Later it's leaking coolant again... the mechanic just said .. TECHNICIAN NOTE
Inspection found the coolant outlet housing at the rear of the cylinder head is leaking where is seals to the head. Coolant outlet housing should be replaced.
RECOMMENDATION
Replace coolant outlet connector adapter assembly then recheck for other leaksAnd did it's gonna cost me another 500... I said no I'm broke ...lol so I just wanted your opinion ... I just want your opinion on this and in general if I should maybe try and sell for a loss this vehicle rentals if all this cause my folks had a 2016 Ford escape that transmission just died at 90k miles so I'm worried I just bought a terrible car in general... I can't keep sinking money into a bad car....thanks in advance... i'd rather pay you for all your help.

Thanks
Bobby

No problem. Unfortunately those are not the greatest vehicles around. Hopefully it will be OK for a while after the coolant leak is dealt with. ($500 sounds like a ripoff to replace a coolant outlet but I don't know how big a job it is.)
The worst problem with those Escapes is the transmission, as apparently your folks found out, so you'll want to baby the thing. Better yet get the coolant leak fixed and then if at all possible dump the stupid thing while it's running OK before something else goes wrong with it.

I appreciate the info... is there a good newer type small size suv you might recommend... we were thinking honda hrv 2024 cause it's on the cheaper end... but just wanted your opinion. I appreciate you
In general the recommendation is Toyota or Honda, with Mazda and Subaru in some cases. You'd have to research the reliability history of the model you're interested in, assuming it's been available in its present form for at least a few years. If it's a model that has been newly updated there's no way to tell how reliable it's going to be.

check the list in the FAQ
the coolant outlet housing at the rear of the cylinder head is leaking where is seals to the head
Does that mean, there is a seal/gasket leaking?
When 'yes'. this doesn't disclose to me why a 'coolant outlet housing' should be replaced for $500 and not simply the seal....
