Hello,
I'm Stefan and I'm from Bucharest, Romania. I want to buy a 4x4 vehicle to use 50% as a daily car and 50% to use it for unpaved roads, forest roads, hills, grass, snow or mud. Nothing extreme, that would take me hours to get out :))
I just want to be able to take me from A to B. For example.. to places that I can camp in mountains or places for paragliding... We are 2 adults and a child and we'll probably have a lot of stuff to carry.
I've made a research in the last week, I've seen "rollers tests" and besides the increased prices, I've seen that what they call an off-road car is more like a big car made mainly for good roads... with almost normal ground clearance and software 4x4 systems.
My budget is about 25.000 euro and for this money I would like to buy a good spec vehicle with "common sense" equipment (AC, powered windows, maybe heated seats, cruise control is nice to have also...) that wouldn't cost me half of that price in 2-3 years. Until now I had only cheap and old cars that I've paid 2 or 3 times during time. So I think that I should search for a 2017+ model and maybe < 130.000km. Also in Europe they are starting to enforce people to buy newer cars... so I have to take that into consideration.
Because I am from Romania I've took into consideration a new Dacia Duster... but I've always got the feeling that I'm paying more than I should and I have better alternatives in this price range.
Also I like utility vehicles like L200, D-max, Hilux, Ranger
Thank you for your time and patience.
Stefan
I wish I could be of more help to you, but I know little of the availability of European/Asian vehicles in your part of the world. All I can really say from experience is to find if possible a Toyota of some kind that will meet all of your requirements. Toyotas have proven reliable to me over many years.
Good luck on your search, and I hope you find a great vehicle!
(P.S. I had a co-worker from Abrud... your country looks like somewhere I would like to visit someday!)
Look up "Varg Scotty Kilmer" on youtube, in his truck lay your answer, the indestructible UAZ....
