HELP ME to reach into BMW’s pockets

Topic starter

Between 2018/21 I was leasing an X1 diesel. Because of the emissions fraud case known as Diesel Gate, where additional devices were fitted to defeat standard emissions testing.

BMW decided not to contest this claim and they set aside a bundle of cash to pay claimants.

I aim to be one of those claimants and, if I was willing to share that cash with a third-party Claims Manager, then I could start my claim today.

BUT BUT BUT!

Some years back, I was in a similar position wrt to a bank loan in the 90’s which had been kind of forced on me by the bank.
They had to pay out claims and on that occasion I pursued the claim myself, instead of using one of the many, many Claims Managers who were charging people as much as £1500 just to write an email of around 10 lines using information which was easily accessible.

I’m convinced, purely by the large number of supposed Claims Managers offering to make my claim against BMW, that the same blood-sucking caper is going on again today.

Has anybody out there made an individual claim against BMW, Mercedes, VW, etc?  If you wouldn’t mind, can you describe the process and your experience?

Many thanks for reading this, even more if you can help.

P.S. To all those wags and comedians who’re already thinking of humorous replies… I’ve already tried applying to:

Mr Claus, North Pole,

Mr B Emdubbleyu, Germany,

Mr Ivor Bundle, Rainbow’s End.

etc, etc.

Well you're obviously in England which is notorious for being the land of bureaucratic rules. I personally have never made any claims against BMW other than I claim they make bad cars. May I probably just pay a lawyer to do it but then again I'd never buy a BMW in the first place so I'd never be in such a pickle. Yes they are fun to drive but then it cost a fortune as they start falling apart is plastic cracks and leaks at a relatively early age
