Lexus ES330 leaks valve cover, power steering

2006 Lexus ES330 138,000 miles, automatic. Car has a leak front passenger side near wheel. I had a smoke test done and it was found that the valve cover and power steering cover was leaking. Says it would cost $1,000 to fix. I put the atp at-205 in both to see if I could stop until I was able to get another car. I don’t know the history of this car and do not want to start putting tons of money into it. I just got it in February had the belts changed then. It’s been running great but just went out to drive it and is making a racket and is hard to steer. Power steering level is between min. and max. The radiator level is very low. No codes except the gas cap code. I’m thinking there is something more to this and I was probably scammed.

valve cover is not a very big job, but the power steering pump is. Top up the rad and see if it stays there.

If you don't want to put money into it then sell it.

Apparently, the power steering went out, if you don't mind driving the car without the hydraulic power steering drive till the wheels fall off. If not, sell it. You do not want to put any serious money into that car.
