How do I fix the overdrive on my Dodge RAM transmission

Hello Scotty. Your opinion is very valuable to me. I have a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 5.2 l automatic transmission. 46re. My overdrive isn't working properly. It only engages whenever the transmission heats up after being driven about 30 miles. Help me. What do I do? Would a manual transmission be better than the automatic 46re? I would love to hear anything you have to say. Thank you sir.

Check the ATF level. Also inspect the fluid.

The manual transmission is much better than automatic 46re.

Fluid is good and is in fair shape. Fluid levels good too. Thanks Yaser for the input.

Drain some ATF and add Lucas anti slip transmission fluid.

I will definitely give it a shot. Thank you sir.

are you sure it's the overdrive you're feeling, and not the torque converter clutch?
