i have changed thermostat and fuild all fans are working and everything works fine in car.  heat cooling etc.

What is the mileage? (That is one of the items requested in the posting instructions.) Check your radiator for clogs, and check condition of hoses (if original they are 18 years old). Did you install an OEM thermostat?

Additionally, for future reference please note that the title line of your post is intended for a short description of your topic, not the details of your question which belong in the body of your post. Thank you.

if it was water pump it would happen anytime of the year correct?

not necessarily. The pump could be borderline, and hot days stress the system the most.

Like I said before, start with the troubleshooting steps in our FAQ (top of our front page).

all i can think is changing the radiator

Well , test it before going and throwing random parts at the problem or you'll just waste money and get nowhere.

Honda accord lx 4-cylinder, mileage is 128000 miles, automatic transmission. about 3 years ago it started overheating on a 100 degree temp day, turned off air, and it was ok but every year after still does it on hot days. it never did it before, owned car since 2009, no issues.  change the thermostat still happened, changed fluid and everything is working, both fans and the air heat. last year i turned off the air and it still was going up i had to pull over and let it cool down. i never let it get real bad always stopped befor it got 3/4 of the way.  not sure what is next, if it was water pump it would happen anytime of the year correct?  all i can think is changing the radiator but no damage visible.
