I have a 1999 honda accord with a 2.0 vtech engine in it as well as stock intake system. I been following these other amature mechanics online telling me to clean my intake system with carberator cleaner. Well I did and ran into some other controversial points later on talking about how it strips a protective layer on the whole system and makes it collect carbon much faster.
So right now I currently have my whole intake system apart and wondering what I could do to correct this before I put it back together and start it up.
I was careful about the electronics for sure. But I'm scared as hell to ruin anything since I'm actually living in my car atm
you don't have a carburettor. Use intake cleaner.
Protective layer is nonsense. Just be careful with cleaner around sensors and rubber/plastic.
The intake is plastic?
