I have a 2014 Ford Fiesta with 136,000 miles equipped with the problematic 6 speed powershift transmission. I bought the car April 2019 at 91,000 miles for $5800. The current state of my transmission is that it shudders occasionally at low speed and low rpm, I think while shifting through 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear, but worst of all it’s about 80 decibels inside the car going 60mph and gets louder the faster you drive. As per the class action lawsuit Ford lost they’re only required to warranty modules given the mileage I have on it (+100,000), and I’ve taken it in and they say there’s nothing more they’ll do.
So my question is; is it worth fighting ford to try and get them to buyback the car, and is likely they would given how many miles are on it and that it hasn’t catastrophically failed.
Side question; got any tips for getting more life out of this particular transmission?
No.
In my opinion, it's not worth fighting. You didn't buy the car new, so it's highly unlikely they'll buy it back. If those are the results a class action was able to achieve, it's unlikely you will do any better on your own. (Unless the defect has caused you some personal injury.). You only spent $5,800 on it. This is peanuts compared the amount of time and money it will cost you to pursue this. Just cut your losses.
by the way, you're the 45th person to use "Hey Scotty" as a title. Next time you might want to try something more descriptive and original.
Hi Scotty?

"Question" and "Urgent!!!!!" are also popular choices.
Don’t forget ‘help’.
Help is my favorite. I sometimes forget what this website is for.
