Hey scotty. Got a 2016 honda fit, 107,000 miles automatic transmission.
I be driving on the road, accelerating, and the car chips out. Turns off while driving. I had to pull over shut off the car and start it again. The transmission indicator in the dash was showing "N" and "D" at the same time. Recently too, the radio would turn when the car shuts off, the radio shut off too but now the car is off the radio is still on. I took out the battery and put it back. What could be the cause of this all
Sounds like electrical gremlins - you could start by checking and cleaning the major electrical connectors between the engine and engine and body control modules, and the grounding of same.
Next step would be to hook up a decent scan tool that would record events so you could see what was cutting out when this happens (or getting a mechanic to do that).
Agree with Glen_stet ... If you don't have a scan tool, call Autozone (or other parts stores) and see if they will check for codes.
They can also test the battery/alternator functions. Most do this service free of charge.
