Hey Scotty, I’m currently looking at a 1993 Cadillac sedan 4d it has 60,000 miles on it and the owner claims it’s been garage kept and runs drives well, is it stupid to look at it as a possible daily driver? Thanks
A car that old is a bad idea for most people, and a Cadillac has much more to go wrong with it than something like a Toyota. Maybe if you are going to work on it yourself, do little driving, and have an alternate vehicle available. Most mechanics will not even touch a car that old which lacks OBD2 diagnostics. (The only electronic diagnostics available would be via OBD1 codes or a Tech2 scan tool, with limited information available.)
The mileage is highly suspect but even if true age takes its toll as well. You can't believe anything sellers tell you. Even if they have the best intentions, which is not usually the case, they may not even be aware of developing problems.
