HI, I have a Nissan Pathfinder 2011, lights came up on the dashboard (Brake ABS, VDC Off, and SLIP); I took the car to have it check and a code C-1143 showed up, I was told that possibly the ABS Module is defective. I am an older senior with no knowledge of mechanics; I am afraid to go to mechanic that starts replacing parts and make me expend money that I do not have, unnecessarily, any ideas what I should do please, any advice will be appreciated, thank you.
C1143 indicates a problem with the steering angle sensor. A common cause of that appears to be a sensor alignment procedure being required after replacing a defective clockspring:
