I have 2019 volkswagen tiguan.. it at 87000 miles ..the transmission is slipping especially at low speeds.... I feel it the most when I'm in bumper to bumper traffic or after i stop and startdriving again. I know for a fact the transmission fluid has never been changed....is it safe to changed the fuild .. and if I do will that fix the issue?
Thank you for your time

If the transmission is slipping it's most likely too late for that.

Not likely. New fluid will not help a worn-out transmission. It might even make things worse at this point since clean fluid will be more slippery than the old contaminated stuff that's in there. If there is a replaceable filter that's clogged up replacing that might help since it could be restricting fluid pressure. That's pretty much a long shot though.
It would be best to have the transmission analyzed by a good independent transmission expert. (Not a chain shop or dealer.)
The transmission could simply be low on fluid.
Check your owner's manual to see where your transmission dipstick is located. If it doesn't mention the location of a dip stick or you don't have an owners book, ask your local VW dealer or mechanic. Then ask them to show you how to use it. If your Tiguan has no transmission dip stick, then ask your favorite VW mechanic to check it for you. That might be a good time to ask him/her if the transmission fluid should be changed.
