I have a 2010 Toyota fj with 140k and the engine is louder than others. Sound is like that brand new white 4 runner you had not too long ago.(like valve train noise) What can I do to make sure that its running properly?

loud as in ticking, exhaust, knocking, etc what kind of loud sound does it make

To my ear it is much like a diesel sound but not as loud. It seems to run fine otherwise and no check engine lights.
I am running 0-20 synthetic and have only had it for about 10k miles.For sure i should drive up to Scotty and have him take a look at it with his fancy scan tool! I plan on keeping this for a long time!
