Hi Scotty, what is your opinion on the 2017 Alpha Romeo Guilia to buy used ? How reliable is it to buy one now and what would be the running costs ? Would you lease one if you had the chance ? Thanks

Fix It Again Tony.

The Alpha 952 (Gulia) isn’t Italian nor is it a FIAT, it actually shares a platform, a transmission (ZF 8HP), and the engine with the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Yeah it still is Chrysler junk, but hey, at least it doesn’t have to be ‘Tony’ it can be ‘Bob’, ‘Jake’ or ‘Dave’ since Alpha went American and bases their cars on Chrysler and GM products.

Tony can be Italian or American.

Exactly!

@DayWalker , Yes.
What I mean has nothing to do with Tony being American or Italian, it’s that because this is a Chrysler and not some absurd obscure Italian design - more people can get parts and fix it than “Tony, the mythical Fiat repair guy”.

Pass on buying used and if you want to try it out, lease it before the warranty expires.

When Alfa Romeo first came back to the U.S. the samples given to the automotive press broke down during test drives. If you want something reliable stay away.

Beautiful car. But they weren’t reliable new; can’t imagine buying a used one unless the dealer gives you a screaming warranty.

It’s a Fiat product. Scotty’s not too fond of Fiat’s.
