HID to LED 2004 Acura TSX

Hi Scotty,

I recently changed the igniter and headlights because 1 headlight did not work.  After this, still only 1 light works.  Do you think I have to change the ballasts? I’ll  have to take off the bumper which is a pain.  Would it make sense to change from HID to LEd lights?  Would this be less cost and less hassle?  Is it difficult to switch over?
Thanks for any guidance.  ScottyS

If the OEM HIDs lasted 18 yrs, your best best would be installing new OEM bulbs and ballasts so that you don’t wave to worry about them again.

If cost is a factor, consider asking your local auto accessories shop, for all the modifications needed for your specific vehicle, to switch from HIDs to LED.

If the ballast went out, then a new bulb is also not going to work. Did you recently have any symptoms of a bad ballast? - The HID on that side not turning on intermittently, suddenly turning off, cycling the headlight switch on/off to get that side to turn on again?

When was the last time you had your battery (and alternator) load tested? A healthy battery and wiring is critical in ensuring a long lasting HID setup.
