1998 Ford Ranger V6 High Idle

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger V6 4.0 which is having idle issues that match TSB 00-3-5 which calls for a high idle service kit XF1Z-15K607-AA which is no longer made. Basically it says that the idle issue is caused by a poor electrical connection at the wire harness to the throttle position sensor. Do you think if I changed the connector it would resolve the problem since the service kit is no longer available?

While it could be the connector for the TPS. But there's a lot of other things that can cause high idle in your Ranger. The biggest culprit has usually been the IAC, idle air controller. Also wouldn't hurt to clean the MAF and throttle body.
