High Idle after cleaning throttle body. Acura 99 TL 3.2- 220k What could it be?

Hello Guys,

Recently I cleaned the throttle body on my Acura 99 Tl 3.2 that has about 220,000 miles. Before I did this clean, everything was running fine. So I cleaned the throttle and once I started it up the idle went up about 1300 RPM'S. Every now and then, the idle will bounce up and down on P ir N. When I am going around 30mph, the speed stays at 30 even when I let go of the gas pedal. I gave it some time to see if it would correct itself but that didn't work. A couple minutes later, the check engine light came on and indicated that code P0505 idle air control system malfunction was the culprit. I changed the iacv and made sure to buy the oem one from Acura. I have checked for vacuum leaks and everything seems good. Coolant level is good. I have tried to disconnect and take out the ecm fuse but all this did not work. I even changed the throttle body and the problem did not go away. What can this be and what can I do. I would appreciate it if you guys can give me some ideas 🙂

What, exactly, did you use to clean the throttle body?  I hope it was a designated cleaner.  How was it cleaned?  Did you disassemble the snorkel housing the MAF sensor first?

Hello, I used a multipurpose lucas throttle body cleaner. I sprayed some cleaner on the rag.
