High mileage manual transmission Fluid change

Thanks everyone for looking at my question.  I have a 2006 Corolla XRS with approximately 175k miles.  I don’t think I’ve never had the transmission fluid change. I’ve been given different advice from local mechanics and online. It does shift well and don’t want to cause any issues. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks again for the time.

Follow the owner's manual for change intervals.  If there is any question, change it.  Then you will know instead of guessing.  Use the specified lubricant.

I definitely agree I should have. But my worry is by waiting way past the recommended interval will cause problems.

The manual trans, unlike some auto trans vehicles can only benefit from a fresh oil change.

There's no harm in doing this. Just make sure you can loosen the fill plug before you remove the drain plug. And use the proper spec gear oil.
