Hi How are you. I intend to buy a seven seater SUV either 2023 Highlander/2024 GH or Honda Pilot. The Highlander/GH gas engine will be turbo which the Honda V6 come with the problematic VCM engine which one I should go for, thanks. Previously, the V6 for Toyota isdefinitely for me to buy but no more V6 now. Which one will be more reliable now, thanks.
Well nobody knows how long will a Highlander last with 4 cylinder turbo they're too new to know their problems but Honda V6 engines are pretty good.
The jury is out on the Toyota 4 cylinder turbo, as was said above. The engine with the turbo is still so new.
The Honda V6 is tried and true. It’s been around forever. It’s still timing belt driven, so it is an additional maintenance item down the road.
I would go with the Honda Pilot in this case. Just change the timing belt every 100K miles. Plus, you get more features for the money. A Pilot Touring gives you Bose audio and real leather seats, The Highlander and Grand Highlander XLE has neither of those and the Grand Highlander XLE is the same price as the Pilot Touring.
