Highlander wheel assemblys on a Solara

I have a 08 Toyota Solara, Convertible SLE v6, 151k miles, automatic

The wheel bearings went bad, so we switched over the entire wheel assembly from a 04 Toyota Highlander from a junk yard, anyone know if it's truly compatible? The tie rods on the highlander were shorter, we had trouble self aligning the tie rods, that were originally on the Solara, so we changed it with the ones that we got from the highlander.

So 04 Highlander tie rods and wheel assembly

It's driving great, smooth, the self alignment my friend did, is really good lol.

I really appreciate this website and all those apart of it, really helpful. Thank you.

all you needed was new bearings, so you swapped the whole wheel assembly for a used one? with used bearings?

Strange.

According to the rockauto.com database the front hub and bearing assembly from 2001-2007 Highlander will fit 2004-2008 Solara. Of course this is for aftermarket parts and it is common for aftermarket manufacturers to consolidate parts for different models that are "close enough". The real tell would be if Toyota lists the same part number for both vehicles.

But hey, if it works OK I guess it's "close enough".

Could the front being modified make everything in the back of suspension fall apart fast?

You’ll find out shortly, if your tyres start wearing unevenly.

Well I've never tried anything like that, but since it's running okay and if your tires don't wear out and don't shake it, I always speeds. I'd assume it's working perfectly fine
