Hello, I have a 2014 ford focus se 4 door, I was working on my brakes in the cold so I went to warm up inside my car, I tapped the brakes getting out on accident and now I can't fit my drums back on. What should I do?
use the adjuster wheel to back them off
In addition to the adjuster, make sure the brake shoes are all the way back into wheel cylinder. (Hopefully you didn't pop the seals out of the wheel cylinder.)
You may have to get a long sliding bar clamp and gently pull the shoes inward back to their original position to get the drum back on. I would HIGHLY recommend a complete brake bleed since you may have sucked air into the system when you over extended the shoes. Also check to see that you did not blow the slotted push pins out of the slave cylinder.
