Hi Scotty,
I have a 2011 Honda CR-V with just under 48,000 miles on it. I get regular oil changes but have never changed my transmission fluid or Coolant. I know you recommend 50 - 60 K miles for the transmission fluid (automatic transmission) and about 50K miles for the Coolant. Since my CR-V is 10 years old would you recommend changing these two? If not when would be a good time or milage?
Thanks and I love your videos.
Gene
Even very long-life coolant is good for 10 years, and you're there. A lot of coolants are only good for 5 years. I don't know what your Honda came with from the factory. (The anti-corrosion additives are depleted over time even with low mileage.) So definitely flush out the cooling system.
I'd do the transmission fluid as well. Don't flush the trans, just drain and refill.
What does your owner’s manual say about all fluid change intervals?
You’ll find the exact ATF & coolant type in there too.
