i want to buy a 2007 honda accord 2.0 VTEC with 155 hp and a 5 speed automatic transmission
how durable are these transmissions?
some say that honda automatics are unreliable
how's that 5 speed?
I have an 08 CRV with an auto. Honda's autos can solid in some years be not so much in others. Search the net for your specifics. For me, it's been pretty solid, although there is a minor gear whine (150k miles) that the Transmission Guy says isn't a big deal unless it grows. Still shifts nicely.
According to this: https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2007/transmission/
the number of complaints is low but the fourth most common category is the transmission
manual transmissions are simpler so they are really reliable and you can get those cars for CHEAP because most people these days do not know how to drive manual transmissions.
On front wheel drive cars, it's easy and cheap to replace too if you ever need to. Once you change enough clutches, you can swap manual transmissions pretty fast 🙂
i dont have a manual driving license, and i'd rather drive an automatic for the ease in it, would you recommend the civic's 5 speed automatic? is it the same one from 2006-2014? better than the accord's tranny?
