Hello, I just got a 2022 honda civic 2.0l hatch , I saw one of the belts was a belt not a chain , it kinda concerned me that it was an actual Belt and not a chain?? Scotty said that a chain is better than a belt , i wonder why they put a belt on a 2022?

Your car has a timing chain, not a timing belt.

Saw? do you mean a belt without any teeth running outside of the engine though some pulleys?

If you just open the hood and see belts, that is normal for most modern cars.

The timing chain is usually hidden behind the timing chain cover, and you can’t see it unless it removed.

You don’t have to be too concerned about the regular belts. Change them as recommended by the manufacturer or as necessary.

Oh ok makes sense !! Thanks Also the oil was a very light color is this normal?

Those cars use 0w-20 synthetic oil and it's a very light color oil especially now that it's brand new it's so light you might even have a hard time seeing it on the dipstick. It's normal with that oil.
