Honda AC compressor doesn't engage after driving in high rpm

Hi Scotty,

I have a Honda Civic 2009, 200 km mileage, a quite decent car.

I was driving at 4000 rpm (high rpm), and I noticed the AC started blowing hot air without any sign (like smelling, etc.)

I checked the related relay separately and it ticks (works). I also checked the wire of the compressor giving a direct positive (+) from the battery, but it doesn't engage anymore.

what do you suggest to do? I plan to replace the coil and the clutch as a set but not touch the compressor.

Best regards,
Riza

If the compressor clutch does not engage when applying +12V directly to it the clutch coil is most likely burned out.

Your car may be low on refrigerant. At high RPMs, if there's not enough refrigerant, the compressor will shut off to protect itself from being damaged.
