I drive a honda accord 2000 SE with 186,400 miles on it. The transmission started showing some problems since the last few months and has been getting worse. The gear shifts with a jerk. When i stop the car, the comes to neutral with a jerk. When i start it starts with a jerk. Otherwise at higher speeds it is smooth.
I get the confirmed error codes as P1739, P1738,P0420, P1259. I bought a camry and want to sell this car. However the dealers are lowballing me sighting these problems ($500 trade in). I am thinking whether it makes sense to go for a repair for these as without any of the problems i could easily net $ 1500-2000 more in private market vs trade in.
Appreciate your opinion
Transmissions are a big probem on those. At that age and mileage, and with those codes, it's almost a certainty that trans is on its way out and it has other problems as well. $500 is a pretty generous offer under those circumstances and repairs will cost more than you'd make back selling the car yourself.

First two codes are transmission codes. Third code is cat code. And the last one is a VTEC code. The cat will be expensive on its own, unless you live in a state that doesn’t do emissions checks. Transmission codes probably mean it’s in the way out. VTEC could be simple like a clogged system, or more expensive like need king to replace solenoids.
Fixing those things will add up, unless you can have some know how.
