2018 dodge charger 5.7 misfire and codes

I got off of work and started it up and I got greeted with a U0147 code and a P0303 code. I can feel the engine shaking and running rough. When I went to work I dint let the engine warm up much as I live 3 minutes away. Now I have a misfire code and a “lost communication with telematics gateway code”. Where should I start and what are the possible issues

You have a computer network ("CAN bus") problem. See possible causes and troubleshooting information here:

https://www.obd-codes.com/u0147

Thanks. People are saying it’s a cam problem because it’s a hemi right when I said the issue without even looking at the info I gave them.

Those engines are prone to cam issues especially if oil changes are neglected, but the U0147 code indicates a CAN bus failure that may or may not be related to the misfire. (I would not expect just one cylinder to be affected by that.)

Is there any relation to the u0147 code and does that issue cause misdfires usually

The cam issues of course have nothing to do with CAN bus communications but could cause a cylinder to misfire. The link for the code lists the symptoms and does not specifically mention misfires.

Could a bad fuse cause the can bus issue

More likely a wiring, connector, or ground issue. (Detailed diagnostic instructions are in the link for the code.)

Okay, what would cause a wiring issue randomly? I was working fine snd I only parked it for 4 hours

Any number of things. Same way you can turn off any electronic device that was working fine and it has problems next time it's turned on. Random failures happen all the time. In the instant case it doesn't help that Chrysler products are notoriously prone to electrical problems.

Where are the fuses that are for the gateway module

Fuses should be listed in your owner's manual.

There’s none for “gateway” what would it be called

I have no idea, but possibly another member here would know.

Another thing to consider is that the U0147 code may have been a spurious code caused by a temporary condition. You didn't mention whether you tried clearing that code to see if it comes back. Scotty in his videos frequently finds that with communications codes. They can also be caused by too low a voltage (bad battery and/or alternator).

It is likely that the misfire on cylinder 3 is unrelated. If you have not already done so a quick test is to swap coils with another cylinder and see if the misfire travels with the coil, fingering it as bad. Also see the FAQ section on troubleshooting misfires.

The check engine light went away on its own and it originally came on when I went up a hill

It shut itself off and 2 minutes later when I got home it came back on when I went up another hill to get to my house

i cleared the codes when I got home and disconnected the battery and connected it again to try that and it still ran rough but I shut it off before any lights came back on

So I ended up swapping the fuel injector from cylinder 3 to cylinder 1 and took the one from cylinder 1 and put it on 3 and there is no misfire on any of the cylinders
