Hello,
Last week I started having an issues getting gears into place. I'm with a 6-speed manual gearbox. First gear is by far the most problematic but I'm feeling a bit of pressure when accessing the other gears as well. When the car is shut off, the gear slide in like a hot knife in butter. What do you think the cause could be?
Clutch, synchronizers or something else. My mechanic checked the transmission fluid a few months ago, said it was recently changes because it looked like brand new, and it was to the correct level.
Oh odds are your clutch is just worn out and you need a new one they only last so long.
It's a 15 year old car, probably with the original clutch that is worn out. Try to adjust the push rod at the clutch pedal to give a little more disengagement.
Thanks, Scotty, I'll post additionally if that solved the problem. My mechanic was convinces it's exactly that, but he's sick and he can't check/change it.
