Hey there Scotty, welcome to Tennessee! I’m located in Springfield, TN, about 30 miles north of Nashville. Anyway, I had a 94 Honda Accord with just over 300,000 miles and I really thought it would last forever or for sure at least 5 more years, BUT at the end of September my husband went into a ditch with it and completely totaled the body. The engine is just fine, but the body is a goner, undriveable. So, needless to say, I’m looking for a used Honda Accord to have for transportation to work to and from Nashville every day.
I'm aware of your videos about the Honda Earth Dreams Engine and the oil dilution issue, but I’m unsure of which Accords are a go or a no go. So, could you please let me know which years of Accords you approve of? For instance, are 2015s fine, or are 2016s fine but only the 4 cylinders not the V-6s???
Really thankful for your volunteering of your knowledge!
Thank You, Elizabeth
So, I’ve found a 2013 Honda Accord Ex with 33,000 miles for $13,900, BUT it has the EarthDream engine in it....so Scotty PLEASE TELL ME, should I pass??? It was driven by an older woman, hence the low mileage, but was well maintained.
Thank you all for your previous suggestions! Elizabeth
Just don't get the earth dreams engine and you should be okay. I would stick with a 4cyl you'll get better gas mileage and longer life of the car. Check Autotempest.com to find the perfect honda for the best deal.
Adding to the above points, check out camry too. you may like it better.
I have a 2020 Accord 2.0T Sport with the Earth Dreams engine. Zero issues with oil dilution so far. My wife drives a 2015 Camry XLE. Very nice car. However, if you are at all concerned about performance, the Accord 2.0T easily walks the Camry all day. It even walks the new TRD Camry as well.
Of course, the longevity of the 2.0T is still unknown. Our Camry has 75k on it and will probably go another 200k to 300k easy. We will see what life I get out of the Accord.
