Honda Accord rolls in park

Hey Scotty, I have a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L with 112k miles. It has the cvt transmission. When I shift to park, the car will roll if I don’t pull the parking brake. The car runs fine otherwise and will shift into reverse and everything fine. What’s wrong with my car?

Sounds like the parking pawl is broken..

Get it looked at, to verify what’s going on, and pray your parking brake doesn’t go out.

Do you park your Accord on a road where it’s not flat? Slightly angled roads can make cars roll, even if in park without the parking brake.

No it will roll with just the slightest incline

It may be because of that slightly inclined road that your car rolls without the parking brake.

@mattjyim This is news to me..

News to me too. I think you might want to hold off on the advice until you have owned and driven cars for a while Mr. Yim.
